A few days ago I wrote a super comprehensive review of 20 Mikoh bikinis. But a few days ago was also my birthday and I received a new Mikoh bathing suit for it! The Hermosa top in lychee and the Zuma bottoms in lychee! My mass review was very flip floppy “this one is perfect!” “No, THIS one is perfect!” I couldn’t make up my mind which of my Mikoh bathing suits I liked the most. That was pre-Hermosa though. So I would like the record to show that… The Mikoh Hermosa top, out of the many Mikoh tops that I own, is my #1. Let me say that differently: Hermosa top is Mikoh’s best top. It’s not even because I’m bias since “lychee” is the best color Mikoh has ever put out (ok, maybe if I had gotten “kava” that statement wouldn’t be said), but the Hermosa top is just amazing. 1- Straps: This means that you can swim around to your heart’s content without any fear of slippage. 2- Cleavage: It lifts everything up more subtly than the Honolulu top, but still gives a super great lift (I took an extra-small). 3- It makes you feel like a Bond girl The Hermosa top is so sleek. Because the top is so small but is offset by this amazing lift, it makes you feel so confident. You can dress it up with some earrings and Céline sunglasses. Or with a snorkel and some fins you can take it snorkeling and not look out of place. TLDR: ??????????/?????????? For best color selection, the Hermosa top is available from their website for $112. For “lychee,” Revolve still has some left! Filed Under: All Clothing, Mikoh, Reviews Kate Moss for Equipment: Jessa Dress and Bria Scarf Review 01/07/2016 By Yuki Leave a Comment Ten years ago, I was two years into my Kate Moss style obsession and it was at it’s all time high. Kate Moss x Topshop would come out in a year and my wardrobe would change forever… Ten years later, my obsession with Kate Moss’ style has kept it’s 2006 high. I mean look at my Pinterest boards and how carefully her section is laid out: Kate Moss Style, Kate Moss Night Style, Kate Moss Summer style… Kate Moss’ style is still the cornerstone for all my outfits. Enter Kate Moss for Equipment and my wardrobe changed again… Okay, I say my wardrobe changed, but really (at this point) all I need is the Kate Moss for Equipment Jessa slip dress and the Bria silk star scarf. After all, my last silk slip I accidentally washed by hand and ruined (thanks, J Crew for saying “handwashable” when it totally wasn’t) and I’m not on that skinny scarf trend (yet). So, I did that thing that I did when Kate Moss x Topshop was released (when Topshop FINALLY opened an e-store that is), I stayed up until 2am refreshing Equipment’s homepage, until finally it was available for purchase! That quick adrenaline coursing through my veins, add to cart quickly, right size? Was that even my right address? No time for a double check!!!!! In the end (for my birthday, even though I added to cart, hehe) I got the Jessa black slip dress and the Bria silk star scarf! The two items I wanted the most and that sold out the fastest! All my Kate Moss x Topshop online shopping practice paid off! I’ve been lusting over a new black slip dress and almost purchased one from Equipment — luckily I read the release that Kate Moss for Equipment was based on her 90’s looks, so I waited. The Jessa slip dress is amazing. Not too big and not too small — I ordered a size small (normally in Equipment blouses I take a medium for some extra room). It falls below my knees, covers any of that weird armpit-meets-chest area, and (here’s the best part) you don’t need a bra with it (or even those little covers)! Not too 90’s, not too lingerie-slip like. It’s a perfect middle. The silk quality is that beautiful Equipment quality too. The Kate Moss for Equipment Jessa Dress is a dream is what I’m trying to say. The Bria silk scarf is pricey for what it is, $80, but… COME ON. Stars? On a skinny silk scarf? With Kate Moss’ name on it? It’s PERFECT. I added it to denim shorts and an étoile Isabel Marant t-shirt with K Jacques Epicure sandals and a pair of David Yurman diamond hoops as my birthday-day outfit and I felt sooooo Kate Moss cool (even while running errands)! At night I casually draped it around my neck while wearing the Jessa dress with the hoops and flip flops (it’s okay to wear flip flops, Kate wears them in Rio!), and you guessed it, again, I felt Kate Moss cool again. Kate Moss’ range with Equipment is convertible for day or night. Dress it up or dress it down. (Note: some pieces might be harder to convert, but it’s still possible…) That’s what I value in any kind of clothing — adaptability. Kate Moss nails it again and I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the range… It might take a while (with prices from $80 – $800), but like Kate Moss x Topshop, I’ll get there and my wardrobe will be all the better for it. ??????????/?????????? Kate Moss for Equipment is available at so many retailers, but your best selection is either from the Equipment store or from Net-A-Porter. ALSO, the Daddy shirt is kind of identical to that pantsuit she put out in the 2014 Topshop range isn’t it? I have the blazer, so the shirt is kind of the next must, no? Kate Moss Topshop Blazer Kate Moss Equipment Daddy Blouse And the slim signature silk and lurex shirt, kind of similar to the one she also put out in that same Topshop collection? Kate Moss Topshop blouse Kate Moss Equipment blouse And her star shirts? See 2009 Kate Moss x Topshop collection (I actually have that blouse all ready, which is why I didn’t rush to get the Equipment one from her line). Kate Moss Topshop blouse Kate Moss Equipment blouse 10 years ago, Kate couldn’t have put out this kind of higher-priced fashion range. Her fan base was way too young. I know for me at 15, I could never purchase a silk shirt for $300 — do you know how many chores that would take??? Now, 10 years later, laying down $300 for a shirt still isn’t my favourite activity, but I appreciate the quality and the range is attainable (unlike her collaboration with Fred!). It really makes me a proud Kate Moss fan to see how her style has evolved, her collaborations have evolved, and how in turn mine has too. Viva Kate Moss, viva Kate Moss for Equipment!!! Can’t wait to see what’s next! Investing in multiple fantastic pieces of swimwear did not matter to me. I’ve recently moved to where it’s summer all year round, so having the best bathing suit is essential. My sister has always been obsessed with Mikoh, but me, I never took notice. A seasonal Isabel Marant swimsuit (ugh, SS/13 perfection) did the trick just fine! Now though I have to have the best swimwear. And by best, I mean, the bikini has to be durable, flattering, and adaptable. It’s no joke when I say that I own A LOT of Mikoh swimwear Mikoh is the only swimwear brand that has checked off everything I need. Now that it’s summer for the rest of the world, I figure it’s time for me to share my Mikoh collection (well at least part of it)! And since Mikoh swimwear doesn’t need anymore introduction (especially if you read my intro to Mikoh page), let’s get started with my Mikoh bikini reviews… … Read More ? I’m not convinced I do, but my mum says I do, sooo getting into it… Céline Audrey sunglassesMy first pair of Céline sunglasses came from my sister. My sister has a habit of purchasing high ticket items, hates them, but hates returning items more (she cuts the tags off too quickly), and so passes them on to me. I am well aware of how lucky I am to be in this situation (but unfortunately, we do not share the same shoe size though). … Read More ? First impression: it’s short! Second impression: it’s really short! Third impression: it’s gorge! A.P.C. denim isn’t something that I’ve ever gotten into. When I find something that works I stick to it (hi, Rag & Bone Jeans). A.P.C. denim is stiff though, which I surprisingly like. And quite indigo, which I definitely like too. It also has a beautiful sheen to it! But… Because it’s stiff and short (when APC says it’s a mini skirt, they mean it), when I get up from sitting down, it sticks up and, well, my underwear goes on display! Just wanted to put that disclaimer out there… With that said, it still looks great on (just stay standing and try to avoid sitting). … Read More ? I briefly forayed into the Reformation’s basic t-shirts. But they failed to impress. So it was back to the drawing board. I racked my mind for t-shirts in the past that I’ve loved. And one brand came to mind: Rag & Bone. I fell in love with Rag & Bone after this DIY ad series with Lily Aldridge. And if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! … Read More ? EDIT MAY 31ST, 2016: Red Alert, Net-A-Porter Has A Few On Sale!! ?? The Caribbean, hot all the time. Panama, hotter all the time… For this tropical move — I need a pair of shoes that can be worn to a sandy Sunday lunch just as easily as they can to a Government building… I’ve always been a fan of espadrilles. But have never been able to find the perfect pair. I don’t love the ones that go across the top of the foot. Also don’t love flat ones — I need a low heel to feel my best ?? After a post about wearing Casta?er espadrilles with jeans à la Jeanne Damas/Alexa Chung… I realised my old non-Casta?er pair weren’t cutting it anymore. The toe came up too high and the laces went across my foot. So, I decided to jump on in and get a pair of real Casta?er shoes. I also figured I could write a Casta?er espadrilles review for this blog, soo, why not! I hemmed and hawed over the amount of colours that were available between Bergdorf, Matches Fashion, and Net-A-Porter. A bright red, a delicate netted gold, or a subtle all cream… Hmm, hmmm, hmmmm. Red Casta?ers via Matches Fashion Gold Netted Casta?ers via Bergdorf Cream Casta?ers via NAP Not being able to shake my five years of NYC dressing, I finally clicked “submit order” on a pair of all-black Casta?er espadrilles. They arrived and I took a big breath in; moment of truth, would they fit? A big “YUP” and exhale. I ordered a size 39 (that’s EU/IT), for reference I’m a 39 in Isabel Marant Dickers, 39.5 in Repetto flats, and 39 in K. Jacques. There is about 1/4 of an inch of wiggle room. But since Casta?er doesn’t make half-sizes, I’m happier to go up to a 39 and have a little little bit of room than to have squished toes! The complete height of this pair (the exact one I ordered), is 6cm from the bottom to the top of the braiding. Casta?er espadrilles are available in 6 cm or 8 cm. I was hoping that mine would be 8 cm, because Net-A-Porter said they are 3 inches. But the box says 6 and so does the ruler. Not sure what’s going on with NAP, but just judge the picture with your eyes if you order them there — some look like 6cm and others 8cm…! With that said, I still love them a lot in 6cm. They still elongate my leg. So no harm done. But my next pair, I might try out the 8cm, just for a little fun…! ???? I only got one blister on the back of my heel when I tied them WAY too tight and walked around way too far. When I loosened it, I had no problem, whatsoever. So just don’t be a dope and tie them too tight like me. The braiding is so tight even after two weeks of non-stop wearing — I actually haven’t worn a pair of shoes besides them. The canvas over the toes holds its shape. And the laces haven’t gotten pilled (why is pilling such a problem in my closet??). Their quality is exactly on par with Lanvin, Hermès, or even Christian Louboutin… Which makes sense since Casta?er creates the espadrilles for them and 12 other designer labels… From a light denim skirt (and the Plush Slim Tee from Reformation) to a pair of black (or dark grey) jeans… Casta?er espadrilles with a denim skirt And then with a pair of dark grey jeans. These shoes are so convertible. The all black shows Casta?er’s openness to pushing the fashion-y boat out of traditional cream/natural colour-wedged espadrilles… Well, so do their fringed ones. And these suede cobalt ones (ugh, the juxtaposition of suede and wicker, be still my heart)… I love these espadrilles. And I can’t say enough good things about them in this review! If I still haven’t convinced you that Casta?er is the espadrille to own, be sure to read this article from the New York Times and tell me you aren’t totally sold. TLDR: ??????????/??????????, the absolute best espadrille to own at a perfect price (hovering around $100USD for a standard pair). The only shoe you need for summer and spring! Comfortable and completely stylish. My all-black exact pair (6cm) are sold out on Net-A-Porter now, but still available from the Casta?er espadrille website. The one you’re desperate to be a part of. And I always wanted to be part of Reformation’s downtown cool kids clothing club store. Reformation makes clothing for that girl who’s too-cool for (the New) school. She’s on the up and up and does a ton of things ironically (i.e. stickers on her phone!). Her hair has those effortless waves or she’s tried and perfected the newest braid style. You wanna be her or at least be her BFF. The “hey babes!,” silly signs outside to Instagram, and the juicer goth vibes… Reformation had everything I ever wanted… Except clothes that actually flatter me. Needing some basic tee-shirts I decided to try Reformation again. Why not, two years have passed since I last tried to become a Ref babe. Maybe something changed… For the sake of this review of the Reformation clothing (and well my need for some good basic tees), I ordered: -Flax Slim Crew Tee, in white -Kenny Tee, in black and white -Plush Slim Crew Tee, in charcoal (Just as an FYI, I ordered all of them in a size small. It has so much going on. But Emmanuelle shows us how easy it actually can be.
